This policy explains what personal information Twin Tip Compost collects through www.twintipcompost.com, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
Twin Tip Compost is run by Matthew Vass, Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK. For UK data protection law, Matthew Vass is the "controller" of your personal information. You can contact us at mattvass123@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign up for the fridge sheet.
- How you use the site, such as pages viewed, how you arrived and roughly where you are (country or city), through Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our website host automatically records to keep the site running securely.
We don't collect payment details, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
How and why we use it

We will never sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the site:
- Netlify, which hosts the website and stores sign-up form entries.
- Google, which provides Google Analytics, if you accept analytics cookies.
These companies are based in the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, they use recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK-US data bridge, to protect it.
How long we keep it
- Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Technical logs are kept by our host for a short time for security purposes.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct or delete it
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- withdraw your consent at any time, including unsubscribing from emails or changing your cookie settings
